The song of the caged bird

The song of the caged bird

I am a bird trapped in a cage wanting to be set free.
I am locked up in four walls, securely shut, no way out.
Looking out of the window, wishing, wanting, hoping, to be set free.
To be able to stretch my wings and fly, fly above the sky and sing.
The mouth that I've never opened, the words that I've never spoken.
Time flies by, hope starts to fade.
I the caged bird is set free, free from restrictions, free from commands.
I am just like others, free.
But the world is a scary place, without commands I don't know wht to do.
I had felt like a bird whose wings were cut; but now I feel like a bird who don't know how to fly.
